Decanter
The British wine magazine Decanter has been around since 1975. Each issue contains around 200 tasting notes as well as news and reports on the subject of wine and wineries. International wine experts and sommeliers make up the Decanter team, one of the best known of whom is Tim Atkin.
Falstaff
Falstaff was founded in Austria in 1980, originally as a wine magazine. It now covers wine, food and travel and is distributed in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. The well-known wine critic Peter Moser writes for the Austrian edition.
James Suckling
James Suckling is considered one of the most influential wine critics in the world. He was Senior Editor at Wine Spectator for almost 30 years. In 2010, his website jamessuckling.com went online to respond to modern needs with tasting notes and video content.
Jane Anson
Jane Anson wrote for Decanter magazine for 20 years before launching her own website in 2020, focusing on Bordeaux. As well as writing tasting notes, she also posts articles and podcasts. Jane Anson has published several books, including “Inside Bordeaux” from 2020.
Jeb Dunnuck
The American wine critic Jeb Dunnuck discovered his enthusiasm for fine wines during a stay in Europe. This interest led him to enter the wine industry and found the newsletter “The Rhône Report”. In 2013, Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate offered him a position as a reviewer, which he held until 2017. He then left the Wine Advocate to publish wine reviews on his own website.
Lisa Perotti-Brown
Lisa Perotti-Brown left her home in Maine in the 1990s and moved to London. There her career as a wine critic began by chance with a job as manager of a wine bar. After several other positions, her career also took her to Tokyo and Singapore. In 2008, she began writing for the Wine Advocate. She has held the position of editor-in-chief there since 2012 and reviews wines from Bordeaux, Napa Valley and Sonoma County.
Robert Parker: The Wine Advocate
Robert Parker, born in Maryland, worked as a lawyer for ten years before turning his full attention to wine criticism in 1984. Parker's prediction that the 1982 Bordeaux vintage would be of very high quality brought fame to The Wine Advocate newsletter. He worked full-time until 2012, gradually retired and retired in 2019.
Wine Enthusiast
Wine Enthusiast is a magazine founded in 1988 by the Wine Enthusiast Companies, which deals in wine accessories from corkscrews to wine racks. The magazine specializes in wine, spirits, food and travel.
Wine Spectator
Wine Spectator is an American magazine founded in 1976 that is published 15 times a year and contains more than 400 tasting notes per issue. Well-known wine critics who write for Wine Spectator include James Laube, Harvey Steiman, Bruce Sanderson, Kim Marcus and James Molesworth. James Suckling also wrote for the magazine between 1981 and 2019.
