Domaine Isabel Ferrando

Isabel Ferrando actually worked in banking, but when her daughter Guillemette was born in 1997, she wanted to change her life. She returned to her roots in the south of France and founded Domaine Saint Préfert with her husband in 2002. Her teacher and supporter at the time was none other than Henri Bonneau, one of the grand masters of Châteauneuf du Papes! In just twenty years, she managed to break into the top group of wineries in the region and achieve numerous top ratings, including two perfect 100 points from the Wine Advocate.
Since the 2020 vintage, the winery has been operating under the name Domaine Isabel Ferrando, which is also a sign that Isabel's daughter Guillemette is joining the winery after completing internships with Alvaro Palacios and Telmo Rodriguez in Spain, among others. With the 2020 vintage, the range was also streamlined and the Cuvées Classique, Auguste Favier and Charles Guiraud have since been combined into one Châteauneuf du Pape. As a winemaker inspired by Burgundy, Isabel also wanted to produce single-vineyard wines, which is how Colombis, F601 and the Cuvée Speciale Vieilles Vignes were created. The vineyards are both organic and biodynamic.
Due to her artistic streak, Isabel Ferrando's own paintings can be found on the labels of the Côtes du Rhône Beatus Ille (a real award-winning hit!) and the Châteauneuf du Pape Colombis.
