2018 Ladoix 1er Cru Les Joyeuses

New to the range of this small, high-quality, Beaune-based négociant in 2018, this is a classic expression of the Pacalet style as much as the terroir, with low sulphur and 100% whole bunches. Ripe, smooth, yet refreshingly chalky with some sappy, spicy, autumnal notes and supple wild strawberry fruit, it's a really good red from an undervalued appellation. (Tim Atkin)
