„100% Merlot, relativ früh geerntet, 15. bis 18. September. Teilweise Gärung in Amphoren. Die Fässer waren zu 50% neu.
Dunkles Purpurkarminrot. Engmaschige, eher steinige Nase und dann massenhaft süße Früchte am Gaumen mit deutlicher Säure im Abgang. Der Abgang ist im Moment noch ziemlich anstrengend, aber wenigstens gibt es neben all der Säure und dem Tannin auch reife Früchte. Noch ziemlich unentschlossen, aber er wird es wohl noch schaffen.“ – Jancis Robinson

“The 2014 Les Grandes Murailles has an opulent and ostentatious bouquet with ample kirsch, strawberry, singed leather and red plums. It could have been pushed too far, yet it retains fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, well-integrated oak, smooth in texture and gaining in intensity towards a gorgeous, lightly spiced finish. This is a very classy Les Grandes Murailles that surpasses my expectations and it should cruise nicely for 12-15 years.” – 92/100 Wine Advocate
