2021 Eitelsbacher Alte Reben Riesling trocken
The tense and cool nose is just beginning to really open up and reminds me a bit of youthful high-end Pouilly Fume. Excellent integration of acidity, fine tannins and wet stone minerality on the medium-bodied palate. Still tightly wound at the firm finish where there is dried herb and toasty complexity. Fermented and matured in used oak casks. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.
