As I wrote last year, this wine derives from a tiny vineyard in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes and is produced by the team of Château Figeac for the Manoncourt family—but it couldn't be more different, as the soils here are clay-limestone, the site is late ripening and the vineyard is planted predominantly with Merlot. The 2020 de Millery has turned out very nicely, offering up aromas of dark berries, licorice, bay leaf and pencil shavings, followed by a medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated palate framed around bright acids and chalky tannins.
