2019 Les Asteries
The 2019 Les Asteries is a blend of 83% Merlot and 17% Cabernet Franc from vines planted on shallow clay over limestone. It storms out of the glass with plum preserves, boysenberry preserves, sassafras, and licorice, giving way to suggestions of Indian spices and Sichuan pepper. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid structure of grainy tannins and lovely freshness supporting the generous fruit, finishing long with a provocative lift.
