2019 Georges de Latour Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2019 Georges de Latour Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it swans out with up-front scents of redcurrant jelly, warm cassis, and black cherry preserves, plus suggestions of cedar chest, sassafras, and ground cloves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers bags of fragrant black fruit flavors with a lively line and super-soft tannins, finishing with a spicy lift.

Spiced herbs, tobacco, cinammon, crushed cloves and blackberry fruits, archetypal Napa Cab. Can be drunk now or put away. A balanced and generous vintage, with more volume than over the past few years. This is an important wine within the history of Napa, seen as the region's first cult Cabernet and longtime home of winemaker André Tchelistcheff - one of the aims of being on the Place is to increase the global recognition of that fact. Owned by Treasury Wine Estates, winemaker Tevor Durling. Tasted twice.

For more than 100 years, Beaulieu Vineyard has set the standard for rich, classic Napa Valley wines. Blessed with a remarkable terroir, BV crafts wines using a combination of traditional techniques and modern technology to coax out the fullest expression of the vineyard. Nowhere is this more evident than in Georges de Latour Private Reserve.
The first cult wine of Napa, Georges de Latour Private Reserve was born in the spring of 1936 when a record frost devastated the region. The grapes that year were few in number but bold in flavor. Highly concentrated, beautifully structured, this wine was BV’s unforgettable debut. Sourced to this day from the same “Rutherford Dust” as that legendary vintage, it is still the benchmark for Napa Valley Cabernet.
« For most of this century, BV’s Private Reserve Cabernet was the most famous, among the most pretigious wines produced in California. »
