2019 Andremily Grenache
The 2020 Grenache is a blend of 78% Grenache, 12% Mourvèdre, and 10% Syrah, using 70% whole clusters. It spent 21 months in 50% new French oak barriques. The wine was still in barrel when I tasted it, due to be bottled in a few weeks. Deep garnet-purple colored, it comes bounding out with notes of stewed cherries, baked plums, and blueberry preserves, plus touches of garrigue, black olives, and crushed rocks. Full-bodied, the palate is rich and layered with tons of black fruit preserves and a velvety texture, backed up by refreshing acidity, finishing long and earthy.
